Hero Kids Foundation is proud to be the sole host of the NASA-backed GLOBE Goes to Camp program in the state of Virginia!
GLOBE – which stands for Global Learning and Observation to Benefit the Environment – is a NASA-founded program that seeks to empower individuals to participate in scientific research by exploring topics like how trees indicate the health of an ecosystem, the impact of cloud types on
weather patterns, factors influencing regional climate variations, the crucial role pollinators play in sustaining biodiversity, and global water systems’ interconnectedness and environmental impact.
Hero Kids Foundation is proud to be the primary host of this nationwide program in the state of Virginia and, together with GLOBE Director of Programs and HKF advisory board member, Tina Harte-Ballinger (pictured above) and Science Systems and Applications, Inc [SSAI], we’re excited to bring this program to our nature center for our local YMCA groups each summer! And that’s not all – we’re currently working to establish a pollinator garden that will welcome campers to our center and play a key role in their experience at GLOBE camp. Help us grow our garden and the little minds that explore it with a sponsorship:
